1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, Rooftop • Dumbo, NY

The rooftop at the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge required a full furniture and landscaping redesign. Drawing from the hotel’s existing aesthetic, we looked to a fresh and neutral palette only using colors that are found in the natural surroundings to the hotel, the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the East River. The wood furniture throughout was made with a weathered teak to further enhance the naturalist materials surrounding this hotel. We decided to only use plant species on the rooftop that could be found in the Brooklyn Bridge Park to create a harmonious setting. We also extended the rooftop’s pool deck to accommodate a greater number of hotel guests.
